How to transform church events into News / Как да превърнем църковните събития в новини (English and Bulgarian)

Presentation by Pedro Torres, Communications director at the Franco-Belgian Union of Conferences of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, during the Media Academy held at Varna, Bulgaria, organised by the Bulgarian Union of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

This video starts with some personnel sharing because many of the assistants were young men and women. I intended to encourage and/or foster their commitment with God and serving others through communications.

The first point shared is the importance of communications in the Bible, starting with Acts chapter 14 and later, with Acts chapter 2 as two examples of how proper communications have unblocked the preaching of the Gospel.

In Acts 14 Paul and Barnabas found themselves in a difficult situation due to the lack of knowledge of the local church. Once they “learned” what was happening, then they began to effectively preach the Gospel to locals.

The very first miracle done by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost was the gift of speaking in different languages, in such a way that many heard the disciples preaching in their own native language. This unblocking of communications, or bridge building resulted in 3000 baptisms the first day.

Some counsels on how to think church events in order to make them interesting and, by consequence, noticeable for the news.

Watch the presentation here, with simultaneous translation from English into Bulgarian.
